State Sleep Society Leadership Conference
The Virginia Academy of
Sleep Medicine was one of 26 state sleep societies that participated
in the State Sleep Society Leadership Conference, which was sponsored
and hosted by the American Association of Sleep Technologists Sept.
17-18, 2011, at the AAST national office in Darien, Ill.
The conference provided
educational information and resources to assist attendees in the
management of a successful membership organization. Sessions
addressed topics such as association operations, financial
management, state licensure and certification, and advocating for the
sleep profession.
"This meeting was a
great opportunity for us to share ideas with leaders in sleep
medicine from around the country about how to support our members to
improve sleep health and treatment of sleep disorders in
Virginia." said President Richard A. Parisi, MD, who represented
Virginia Academy of Sleep Medicine at the conference.
